Canavan says Queensland government should  put jobs over climate
The federal resources minister, Matthew Canavan attracts ridicule after he says state should 'focus on sparing employments today' rather than diminishing ozone harming substance emissions to zero by 2050.

It's in response to the Palaszczuk government's announcement on Tuesday of a zero net emissions target by 2050.

I simply say to Matt Canavan that they have $5 billion sitting dormant in an infrastructure fund, where that money could be put to good use creating jobs in the far north of our state, Ms Palaszczuk told reporters.

But the move attracted the ire of Queensland-based Canavan, who tweeted: “Instead of trying to save the planet in 2050 the QLD labor should just concentrate on saving jobs today!”
